Senior Front-end Engineer

Full-Time in Delray Beach, FL - Remote OK - Senior - Engineering

This role is available to highly experienced remote workers. However, we prefer this person to work in our Delray Beach, FL HQ, once the office is re-opened 100%. For now, we are all remote, stay safe & healthy!

YOUR ROLE

As a Lead Front-end Engineer, you will have a considerable impact on the team and the company's bottom line. You will be pivotal in creating an engineering culture of continuous improvement and exceptional engineering principles. You will help guide and encourage the team to develop and implement improved processes and best practices with a focus on the "consumer experience."

You will be a people-focused hands-on (80% in code) lead that coaches and mentors engineers to realize their full potential, striving to become the best. Your mission is to help create a tight-knit engineering org that runs like a well-oiled machine fostering a passion for creating a world-class consumer experience.

LONG TERM GOAL:

  • Hiring, training, scaling, and leading a top-notch front-end engineering team while continuing to be hands-on 50-70% of the time.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

  • Architecting, designing and building scalable and efficient products/projects
  • Empowering the team to learn and grow by using your expert knowledge in:
  • Modern HTML & CSS (Flexbox, Grid, SASS, etc)
  • Core web and browser concepts (e.g. how does JavaScript handle asynchronous code)
  • Modern front-end frameworks (Vue.js is a plus)
  • User interface (UI) & User Experience (UX) best practices & testing
  • Using data to analyze, optimize, and improve code and product features
  • Working closely with Product to expand on their ideas to create high quality, scalable features
  • Communicating and collaborating with internal and external teams, proactively communicate progress and challenges to the team
  • Creating and executing detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures, increasing the productivity and efficiency of the engineering team
  • Review and confirm the quality of the work performed and the methods used by the team conducting various tests and quality assurance checks
  • Foster and drive operational excellence, quality, security, and privacy initiatives across your team, and the entire engineering organization
  • Coach, guide, and mentor all levels of engineers to do their best work through consistent 1:1s, training, peer reviews, retrospectives, and more
  • Fostering an engineering culture of constant learning and continuous improvement
  • Championing front-end best practices while staying abreast of new trends that could benefit the team and business
  • Preparing and delivering various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally
